About
I’m Stephen Jordan, the owner and founder of Sound Cybersecurity. I have provided IT-related products and services for hundreds of small businesses since 1989, as well as running my own IT Company since 1993. At the end of 2015, I switched from being a traditional IT Company to becoming a Managed Service Provider. In October of 2021, I sold that business, with the sole purpose of allowing me the time to focus on helping small businesses improve their cybersecurity posture.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, numerous industry certifications, (including CompTIA Security+), and 32 years of hands-on experience installing and supporting small business networks, as well as managing and working with my own IT staff and other industry colleagues, I’m uniquely qualified to help small businesses navigate the cybersecurity process.
Prior to selling my business, I realized that it was impossible, with the time and money available, for any MSP to do everything they need to do for their clients. Especially challenging is the exponential increase in cyber threats, and the compliance requirements by financial institutions, insurance companies, and government agencies, which will only continue to increase.
Since that time, I’ve also concluded that it’s a conflict of interest for those providing the IT services to also perform the IT assessments needed to confirm their company’s or client’s compliance.
As a result, I have developed my business processes to allow me to be your third-party assessor, so I can determine where your company is in the cybersecurity process, and then point the way to better cybersecurity.
